Embrace the magic of new beginnings in February

February’s potent energy promises fresh starts & transformation. 

As we ride the wave of the Imbolc Portal this week that spans from February 4th (Solar Imbolc) to February 9th (Lunar Imbolc), coinciding with the New Moon & the midway point between the winter solstice & the spring Equinox. 

This magical period paves the way for the vibrant energy of the Chinese New Year on 10th, that ushers in the majestic energy of the Dragon & marks the awakening of the earth from its winter slumber.

In the Chinese solar calendar, we enter Li Chun, the first term of the 24 solar terms & In the realm of numerology, February is a 1 month—an initiation of fresh cycles & opportunities.

Honouring these seasonal transitions empowers us & expands & aligns our life force with nature. 

We harness the energy & reconnect with nature's intricate spirals—a reminder that, like the snowdrops & dandelions emerging from the earth, our energy is drawn upwards, expanding with the increasing light. 

Imbolc, derived from the word 'imbolg,' meaning 'in the belly,' symbolizes the Earth's womb—pregnant with the promise of renewal, hidden potential, & the stirring life-force. 

The returning light welcomes us to clear out the old, release past energies, & make way for the fresh, invigorating cycle ahead.

Imbolc is a time of emergence— a season of renewal, visioning, & activation, initiating a magical year of the Dragon. 

A sacred threshold where we consciously step out of the winter's comforts & embark on a journey to become who we truly aspire to be. 

The dream-seeds planted at Winter Solstice begin to sprout, nurtured by our clear intention, love & devotion.

We connect to the energy of the Midwife, an archetype of the Divine Feminine, who supports us as we make the choice to rebirth ourselves & embody our truth & authenticity. 

So, ditch the old baggage! Time to Marie Kondo our life to create more space for the new energy, from cleansing our external space to decluttering the mind & heart. 

Ways to honour this phase: 

  • Spring clean your home. This physical act mirrors an internal cleansing. It's a practice to remove stagnant energy accumulated over winter & invite freshness & lightness into our homes & lives.

  • Work with cleansing crystals. crystals like Black Tourmaline, Black Obsidian, Selenite & Smokey quartz.

  • Visit water for purification.

  • Light a candle to symbolically reawaken the eternal inner flame of creation. To honour the return of light & call your winter intentions into being with this reflective & intentional ritual.

  • Plant seeds or nurture early-blooming plants. Physically connect with the Earth & ground yourself. 

  • Set meaningful goals for the year.

  • Make a vision board. Canva has some templates to create a digital one you can have as your screensaver. 

  • Create an altar reflecting the season's essence.

  • Consider hosting a feast. Share a meal with loved ones to acknowledge the abundance that carried you through winter, showing gratitude for the Earth’s sustenance. 

Ways to balance and support your body: 

  • Gently cleanse your body. Consume foods supporting normal Liver function. Foods like leeks, chives, coriander, dandelion & garlic can be beneficial. Include supplements like Sun Chlorella, a green algae, the richest food source of chlorophyll, that cleanses the body of heavy metals, toxins and pesticides whilst supporting the gut with prebiotics.

  • Eat red dates, carrots, raw honey, onion, & ginger.

It stimulates the head, the most Yang area of the body, aligning with the Yang growth & expansion of Spring. Additionally, as the scalp mirrors the entire body, stimulating scalp channels mobilizes Qi & Blood throughout the body.
